Job DescriptionYour Opportunity We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Issuing Domain. In this role, you’ll leverage your technical skills to develop, maintain, and support innovative solutions that solve real-world challenges in the payments industry. From designing and building scalable systems to ensuring seamless integration with key technologies, your work will directly impact millions of users. You’ll also make an impact by:

  • Driving technical solution design, estimation and delivery whilst ensuring alignment with the domain architectural strategies
  • Performing code reviews to ensure that solutions meet the quality standards and requirements
  • Contributing to and ensure adherence to the Governance, Standards and Policies defined by the Engineering practice.
  • Working with the Domain Engineer Manager and other Lead Engineers in defining the Dev, Test and Ops practices and controls and embed these within the Team.
  • Contributing to the Strategic Technical Roadmaps (0-2 years) in conjunction with the product and architecture team.
  • Leading the technical discussions and decisions which come out of the Backlog grooming, solution designing and estimation sessions.
  • Hire and onboard the right people for software engineering team, including defining roles and responsibilities, attracting, interviewing, and selecting the best candidates.
  • Build and maintain a cohesive team that works well together, fostering a culture of collaboration and communication, encouraging knowledge sharing, and providing opportunities for effective teamwork.

QualificationsWhat you’ll bring To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

  • 2 years' experience managing a team
  • Java or Typescript
  • PL/SQL (SQL Server or Oracle)
  • Webservices (REST & SOAP)
  • Maven
  • Reporting services (MS SSIS, SAP Business Objects etc.)
  • Automated Unit & Integration Testing Frameworks
  • Micro-services implemented using Spring Boot
  • CI/CD Tooling
  • Design Patterns

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following:

  • Docker
  • AWS services and certification
