This is a 9 month fixed term, part-time (0.4FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2026 with possible extension Waikiki is a coastal community some 55 kilometres south of Perth and is a developing locality with a number of subdivisions. Waikiki Primary School (PS) opened in 2002 and was comprised of seven houses built as a temporary facility. In 2008 the dream became a reality when a brand new school was built in Arnside bend. The school places a strong emphasis on community, with active involvement from parents and caregivers through several community events, such as picnics and learning journeys. The Role The successful applicant will lead the design and delivery of culturally responsive practices that foster safe, supportive and empowering learning environments, enhancing student wellbeing, engagement and achievement. You will collaborate closely with teachers, families and other professionals to shape and monitor personalised education plans that help every learner thrive. A key part of the role involves building strong, respectful relationships with parents, caregivers, community members and specialist partners, offering informed guidance to strengthen student outcomes. You will also provide valuable support to schools by advising on the implementation of culturally responsive curriculum and contributing to inclusive teaching practices. Want to know more? - be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the histories, languages, social and cultural protocols of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of culturally responsive strategies that support the wellbeing, engagement and learning of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, and liaise with parents/caregivers, families, teachers and community members and assist teachers to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students’ needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of building culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of culturally responsive education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or allied health professionals.
