The Team

The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) provides important health and wellbeing services to families across Tasmania with children aged 0 to 5. The service promotes the healthy development and wellbeing of children, providing growth and developmental assessments, health-focused early intervention, referrals and connections with other early childhood providers.

The CHaPS Residential Parenting Unit (lilinga) supports early intervention and support to families to navigate the adjustments and broad range of challenges that can arise during early parenting, equipping them with the confidence, knowledge and tools needed to support family wellbeing.

lilinga means Tasmanian Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii) in palawa kani, the language of Tasmanian Aborigines.

The Role

Enrolled Nurses within lilinga work alongside Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care that supports the careplan, and promotes the wellbeing and confidence of families admitted to the unit.

You will need

  • Experience and/or knowledge of the principles of primary healthcare and delivery of holistic care that supports family efficacy.
  • Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and in partnership with families, to meet health outcomes.
  • Knowledge/experience of early parenting support, or ability to gain same.

Details of appointment

Multiple permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$73,109 to $80,524 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Current Working with Children Registration or Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
