Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities in global logistics, with a focus on freight forwarding, brokerage, and specialist services. Day-to-day activities include building and maintaining relationships with clients and prospects, conducting market research, preparing proposals and quotations, and presenting tailored logistics solutions that meet customer needs. The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with operations and account management teams to ensure smooth implementation of services and high customer satisfaction. The role also involves tracking sales performance, contributing to strategic planning, and representing EMO Trans at industry events and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and negotiation.
- Experience in global logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain, with knowledge of air and ocean freight solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to design customised logistics solutions and interpret market trends.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software (e.g., MS Office) to manage accounts and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the Australasian and Pacific Island logistics markets is a plus.
