Compliance Manger

Garden Grove Haulage Pty Ltd is a family-owned and run local company providing bulk cartage Australia-wide.

Role summary:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Compliance Manager to lead our compliance program, ensure safe and lawful transport operations, and manage driver and staff induction and training. You will develop, implement and monitor systems to meet state and national transport legislation and company standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage our transport compliance framework, policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HVNL (Heavy Vehicle National Law) and other relevant road transport legislation and regulator requirements.
• Monitor operational compliance (mass/dimension, vehicle standards, fatigue and chain-of-responsibility).
• Conduct regular compliance audits, internal reviews and corrective action tracking.
• Manage record-keeping for driver fatigue, maintenance, permits and compliance documentation.
• Lead employee inductions, onboarding and ongoing compliance training for drivers and transport staff.
• Develop training materials, checklists and competency assessments; deliver or coordinate face-to-face and e-learning sessions.
• Liaise with operations, HR and external agencies/inspectors.
• Provide regular compliance reporting and KPIs to senior management.

Skills & experience required:

• Proven transport compliance experience within road freight, distribution or transport operations.
• Familiarity with HVNL (Heavy Vehicle National Law) and associated regulations, Chain of Responsibility obligations, fatigue management and vehicle standards.
• Experience delivering employee inductions and compliance training programs.
• Strong knowledge of transport documentation, record-keeping and audit processes.
• Excellent communication, investigation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
