Role Description The Machine Operator role at Hayes Services is an on-site position located in Adelaide, SA. The Machine Operator will operate a variety of civil construction machinery and equipment to support tasks such as earthworks, trenching, and pavement preparation. Daily responsibilities include setting up and safely operating machines, performing basic inspections and maintenance, and monitoring work quality to meet project specifications. The role also involves working closely with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate tasks, follow safety procedures, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate construction machinery and equipment, with solid Machine Operation skills.
- Knowledge of Quality Control practices to ensure work meets project and safety standards.
- Experience working with Machinery and Hand Tools in a civil construction or similar environment.
- Strong Communication skills for coordinating with supervisors and team members on site.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in construction settings.
- Previous experience in civil construction or plant operations is highly beneficial.
- Relevant tickets or licenses for operating machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders) are preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and perform physical tasks as required.
