Job Description

Posted on: June 29, 2026

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accountant role plays a key part in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial management and reporting across Hesperia’s funds and projects. This role sits at the heart of Hesperia’s finance function, with ownership across project and fund accounting, taxation, compliance, treasury and investor administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys variety and is looking to grow their career in a high-performing property and funds management environment. You will work closely with project teams, the Investment and Funds Management team and external advisors to deliver high-quality financial outcomes across a diverse portfolio.

This position will be offered as a full-time, permanent position—salary banding: $80,000 - $100,000, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end fund and project accounting, including monthly cost processing, journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare and review financial reporting for investors and financiers, including year-end financial statements, coordinating with auditors and external providers.
  • Manage taxation compliance obligations, including Business Activity Statements, income tax working papers and investor tax statements, in collaboration with external tax agents.
  • Administer entity management, ATO portal, banking and debt facility payments, supporting capital calls, distributions and cash flow monitoring across funds and projects.
  • Prepare financial information for Project Control Groups, Investment Committees and investor reporting, ensuring governance resolutions and statutory compliance obligations are met.
  • Contribute to finance operations through continuous improvement of accounting policies, internal controls, systems and processes in collaboration with Business Unit and Shared Services teams.

About you

You are a qualified Accountant with 3+ years of relevant experience. You are comfortable taking ownership of tasks, working in a structured, compliance-driven setting and delivering high-quality outcomes.

You bring a curious mindset and willingness to learn, taking initiative to understand how things work and identify opportunities to improve processes and systems. You are also adaptable in your approach, able to respond to changing priorities and contribute effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Strong interpersonal skills come naturally to you, and you are confident in building relationships across all levels of the business and with external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

  • Completed tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) or working towards completion
  • Sound understanding of accounting and taxation matters, ideally in a property or funds management context
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g. ASIC, ATO, AML/CTF) is advantageous
  • Exposure to funds management, investor services, or property development is desirable
