3D Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson

Established in 1985, it manufactures and markets conveyor components including pulleys, idlers, rapid advance-rapid retreat components and drive-heads, and provides on-site installation, maintenance, and relocation of conveyor installations. Our Opportunity To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Mechanical 3D Designer to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our site service team at Unanderra, NSW.

• Creating Technical Drawings at all levels i.e., Layouts, Arrangements, Assemblies, and Details
• 3D modelling and detailing using input from engineers and senior designers in the team.
• Determine factors like tolerances, dimensioning, weldability, and ease of assembly.
• Create designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
• Assist with field and manufacturing problems.
• Site Services and Engineering functions such as design reviews, risk assessments and execution activities.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
• Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Autocad, Professional Vault, Navisworks).
• 5+ years’ experience in a design role or related experience.
• Bulk Material Handling or Heavy Industrial/Mining Industry experience
• Belt Conveyor Design experience
• Working knowledge of the appropriate Australian standards such as AS4024, AS1100, AS1654 and AS1657.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Full Drivers Licence
