Role Description

As the fearless Innocean People & Culture Lead you are responsible for all areas of Human Resources and recruitment, as well as being passionate about nurturing workplace culture. As an individual contributor, you are responsible for the end-to-end execution of the employee lifecycle and experience from recruitment, onboarding, policies and contracts to L&D, training and retention, ensuring they have the best possible experience. 

As a subject-matter-expert, you will act as an advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on best practices on all HR matters. Responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of HR operations you will plan, develop, propose, and implement productive approaches to align with our overall growth and talent strategies as well as build the people and culture function and processes in the agency. 

This role will suit someone who has had experience in the advertising industry or who specifically wants to work in the advertising industry – with a bunch of seriously talented and seriously nice people. 

General

  • Manage all aspects of agency Recruitment and Human Resources, working closely with the Operations Director to keep the agency operating at a high level and pace.
  • Draw on relationships with managers and external partners to make decisions regarding optimal efficiency and strategic goals.
  • Lead, inspire and manage work, sharing the vision and values of the agency.
  • Flexibility to take on ad hoc projects.
  • Manage company training budget, liaise with leadership to organise/book training and track progress.
  • Manage leave process for all employees, ensuring they understand the different leave types, have the necessary balances accrued and enter any requests correctly in the system

Talent Acquisition

  • Managing the recruitment lifecycle and liaising with Managers and Interviewers in relation to all recruitment needs, creating job descriptions, briefing recruiters if required and reporting on key recruitment performance metrics.
  • Performing reference checks and exit interviews.
  • Onboarding/offboarding including Employment Hero and inductions. Office Manager to support.
  • Negotiate and prepare contracts as required.
  • Utilisation of LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Liaising with line managers to align on Job Descriptions and Salaries.
  • Working closely with finance team to ensure smooth entry of data into Workbook.

DEIB & L&D 

  • Support the Operations team in driving a culture of inclusion and transparency with an empathetic style that empowers high performance. 
  • Ensure that DEIB principles are integrated into all HR practices. 
  • Drive a culture of inclusion and transparency 
  • Mange all work, health & safety matters with support from Office Manager. 
  • Lead on Learning & Development initiatives. 
  • Implementation of Mental Health First Aiders 

HR Efficiencies 

  • You will be accountable for all HR administration throughout the full employee lifecycle. 
  • Develop the organisations employee retention initiatives. 
  • Uphold the organisation's policies and standards and ensure that legislative regulations are being updated and followed. 
  • Establish the HR function and implement HR processes. 
  • Continue to educate and enable staff to efficiently use Employment Hero and make recommendations on efficiencies. 
  • Maintain administration documents, including staff lists and contact lists with Office Manager support. 
  • HR administration including inputting KPIs and development plans into HR systems. 
  • Preparing approval forms for finance. 
  • Manage all employee relations end to end, including conflict resolution. 
  • Build HR internally, fostering and enabling an environment where employees can speak up and be heard. 
  • Drive employee engagement activities with the support of the office manager. 
  • Champion the Performance review process 

Internal / External Communication 

  • Be that first point of contact and ongoing support for new starters, answering their questions and proactively helping as needed 
  • Supporting staff in all HR related queries 
  • Enhance workplace culture through engagement and connectedness initiatives 
  • Point of contact for HQ regarding policies, procedures & compliance. 
  • Liaise with Advertising Council Australia to keep across best practice and organise training. 
  • Staying up to date with the latest salary survey information and understanding/ implementing withing INNOCEAN. 
  • Maintaining good relationships with external recruiters, negotiating terms of business. 
  • Manage communication and liaise with lawyers regarding conflicts, Fair Work issues. 
  • Manage communication and liaise with Immigration agents to identify and organise suitable visas for employees, assist with the lodgement of visa applications. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements 

Qualifications 

  • Human Resource Management Degree or similar 
  • Proven experience in a generalist HR remit 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • 5+ years in a Human Resource related role in a relevant field. 
  • An ability to demonstrate knowledge of HR best practices. 
  • Sound knowledge of multiple HR functions and principles, including recruitment, performance management, health & safety, policies, employee engagement and relations. 
  • Proven ability to plan and manage HR process for maximum efficiency and productivity. 
  • Ability to streamline or implement new structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands. 
  • Able to work with integrity and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to build effective business relationships. 
  • Exceptional time management skills, able to meet tight deadlines without compromising on work quality. 
  • Flexibility to adapt your ideas to meet client expectations and take on feedback. 
  • Strong skills with Microsoft 365 software such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word). 
  • Flexible approach to work, demonstrating resilience and ability to rapidly adapt to change. 
  • Mature and insightful when it comes to motivating people and dealing with conflict to maintain a positive atmosphere for high morale and productivity. 
  • Passionate about great Agency output and a supporter of Agency values. 

Development 

  • Regular appraisals and 360 feedback is important 
  • So too is being able to check in with your manager whenever. Their doors are always open.
