Senior Estimator

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our Engineering & Projects team, based in Adelaide.

This is a key role within the Precontracts team, responsible for delivering medium to large scale, multi-discipline tenders and supporting the successful conversion of opportunities into project wins.

You will contribute to a strong and diverse pipeline of work across sectors including Water, Defence, Resources, Industrial and Energy, showcasing the breadth and technical capability of our E&P team.

About the Role

This role offers variety and flexibility, with responsibility for leading estimating activities across a range of complex projects. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to develop high quality submissions, robust cost estimates and practical construction methodologies.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the preparation and delivery of detailed cost estimates
• Review and develop estimates using first principles and subcontractor inputs
• Manage tender submissions including EOIs and post tender activities
• Coordinate estimators, engineers and submissions teams
• Develop construction methodologies, programs and cost strategies
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks and opportunities
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
• Support negotiations and project handover activities

What You’ll Bring

• 7-10+ years’ experience in construction estimating
• Experience delivering medium to large, multi-discipline tenders
• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost structures
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and contribute to team outcomes
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or similar (desirable)
