About the role

The Opportunity

An established and growing professional services firm is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Partner to join its Perth office.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual who can combine strong technical audit expertise with a genuine commercial and client-development focus. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a portfolio of established clients while playing an active role in growing the firm's presence across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring high-quality and technically robust audit delivery.
  • Act as a senior adviser and trusted point of contact for clients, developing long-term relationships at CFO, CEO, Board and ownership level.
  • Take responsibility for the overall quality, profitability and delivery of audit engagements.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing client relationships and develop new business.
  • Lead business development activity, including proposals, tenders, networking and referral opportunities.
  • Work closely with other Partners and senior leaders to identify opportunities for cross-selling wider advisory and professional services.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to audit teams, supporting the development of Managers, Senior Managers and future leaders.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Australian auditing and accounting standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the firm's wider strategy, market positioning and growth across Western Australia.
  • Represent the firm externally through networking, industry events and relationships with professional and business communities.

Sector Focus

The firm has a strong interest in candidates with experience across mining, resources and related industries, including businesses operating within the wider natural resources ecosystem.

Experience with clients such as mining groups, resources businesses, engineering and services companies, energy businesses or other complex corporates would be advantageous.

Mining experience is desirable rather than essential, and candidates with a strong commercial audit background across other sectors will also be considered.

About You

We are looking for an established audit professional who is ready to operate at Partner level, or an existing Partner looking for a new platform in Perth.

You will ideally have:

  • Significant experience within an Australian or international accounting firm.
  • A strong background in external audit.
  • CA/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience managing sizeable and/or complex audit portfolios.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and auditing requirements.
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain senior client relationships.
  • Commercially minded approach with evidence of business development and revenue generation.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The credibility and confidence to operate with CEOs, CFOs, Boards and business owners.
  • Mining/resources sector exposure would be highly advantageous.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a firm with an established presence in the Australian market and play a significant role in its continued growth in Perth.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of a high-quality client portfolio.
  • Build and develop their own market presence.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on the firm's Perth growth strategy.
  • Develop relationships across the mining and resources sector.
  • Influence the direction and culture of the audit practice.
  • Progress their career within a growing professional services environment.
