Our professional team are adept at resolving matters of complex environmental constraints and bridging the gap between community, developers, Councils and legislative architecture. Foundational services include environmental planning, vegetation and fauna plans, survey, audits and assessments.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Project Ecologist/Environmental Consultant located in Burleigh Heads, Qld. The role will provide a mix of field and office-based project tasks. Fieldwork and site meetings will comprise approximately two to four days per week.
You will manage client projects with high-level responsibilities that include:
- Supporting project outcomes, implementing existing field methodologies and the compilation of reports
- Input into project budgets, project deliverables and timelines
- Developing environmental management plans relating to fauna, botany and flora disciplines including in conjunction with our team of specialists
- Mapping and analysis using ArcGIS/QGIS and/or Acad
- Furnishing of final reports to clients, submission to prevailing authorities and provision of supplementary ecological advice
- Communication with clients and third parties to negotiate successful project outcomes
- Input for the work project of other team members
- Cross-mentoring and skill development for key staff and graduates
- Utilising shared resources, work in hand and project administration software
- Working closely with our team of scientists, educators, and staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects and programs
Qualifications
- Over 3 years experience in ecological consulting and environmental management in Queensland
- Knowledge of Queensland government regulations and policies related to the environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and contribute in a positive way to team culture
- Have a mindset to identify new business opportunities
- Demonstrable skills in building and maintaining client relationships
- Passion and creativity to fit in within social enterprise ideals and desired outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Experience with GIS software
