Payroll Manager

People in Payroll are proud to be partnering exclusively with a much-loved, ASX-listed organisation based here in Melbourne.

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Leader to oversee their New Zealand Payroll operations — leading a high-performing team and driving operational excellence.

Key priorities for the role:

• Lead, manage, and mentor the payroll services team to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant delivery of NZ payroll services.
• Bring deep expertise in NZ payroll legislation, compliance, and best practices.
• Maintain the highest standards of payroll accuracy and reporting integrity.
• Design and drive initiatives for continuous improvement and process efficiencies.
• Build strong relationships across the business, demonstrating exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Provide strategic and analytical insights to enhance payroll operations and deliver business solutions.
• Display advanced technical knowledge across complex payroll systems and operational processes.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven leadership experience managing large, complex payroll teams, ideally within high-volume environments with multiple EBAs/Awards.
• A hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Salary on offer up to $140K + Super.
