Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions, ranging from the arid dry of the central desert to the tropical monsoon of the top end. The corporation generates, transmits and distributes electricity, supplies water and wastewater treatment services across the Northern Territory (NT) for the benefit of residents, including remote and isolated Aboriginal communities and outstations.
An excellent opportunity now exists for an experienced Asset Manager to join our experienced and successful corporation based in Darwin, Northern Territory. The candidate will lead our Power Services Network Asset Strategies and Risk team in Asset Management function. They will need to be able to demonstrate their experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of asset engineers, within energy or utilities industry, demonstrating good understanding of the principles and practices associated with managing power network assets over their life cycle. The candidate shall possess advanced stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and analysis skills with experience in introducing innovative techniques that drive best value for the Territorians.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will hold the following mandatory qualifications, skills and experience:
- The ability to interact effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience in implementation of Asset Management frameworks and documentation based on the ISO55000 suite of standards in an effective way that drives asset outcomes in line with business objectives. Knowledge of the principles and practices of maintaining power system infrastructure, maintenance management and asset management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop successful multi discipline teams at a management level, including the ability to manage physical, financial and human resources.
- Demonstrated experience in application of strategic asset management, risk management and financial management principles.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with other section managers, external community and industry representatives. High level interpersonal and communication skills including the effective use of conflict resolution, negotiation and networking skills.
- Demonstrated advanced analysis and problem-solving capability, including change management, for both technical and business management scenarios.
