Proximity, an SPA Australia company, is seeking a full-time, Canberra-based Marketing and Communications Group Manager to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong track record of success across marketing, brand and communication for both internal and external channels.
With exceptional ground work already done, this role is waiting for someone that loves to work in a fast-paced role covering a broad range of activities including brand, events, communications, media, and stakeholder engagement. Experience in professional services is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with the company business goals
- Maintain and enhance a consistent brand identity across all internal and external channels. As we work through the integration of Proximity and SPA Australia, we’ll be introducing a new brand to the company and clients and this role will take it forward
- Lead internal and external communications, including plans and materials for business units that support our service offerings
- Plan and deliver integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels with consistent messaging
- Produce and manage publications, media releases, and website content
- Oversee promotional events, sponsorships, advertising, and public relations initiatives
- Use internal and external marketing and communications tools to ensure optimal user experiences and monitor and analyse campaign effectiveness, using data to refine and improve outcomes
- Brief in and coordinate creative agencies, media suppliers and vendors as needed
- Collaborate with local and international internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact campaigns
- Provide regular reporting and insights to internal stakeholders.
Required skills and experience:
- Proven experience in managing integrated marketing and communications strategies
- Excellent writing, editing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced digital marketing and social media expertise
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sharepoint; experience with platforms like LinkedIn and Pardot (or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, suppliers, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience in marketing, ideally within consulting, professional services, or Defence-related industries.
The successful candidate will report directly to senior leadership in Australia and maintain close contact with USA-based leads.
