Role Description
The Senior Sales Consultant is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sydney (or Melbourne), with flexibility for some work from home. This role blends account management and business development, managing and growing relationships with existing clients while proactively targeting new business, understanding each client's event needs and recommending the right speakers and facilitators to maximise impact.
Day to day, that means prospecting and qualifying new leads, conducting client consultations by phone, video and in person, preparing proposals and quotes, and negotiating contracts in line with our business goals. You'll be confident and comfortable on the phone daily, a good part of this role runs through client calls, not just email. You'll collaborate closely with our internal teams to ensure events are delivered smoothly, keep accurate records in our CRM, and meet or exceed revenue targets. You'll also keep an eye on market trends, contribute to sales strategy, and represent Saxton Speakers Bureau professionally at industry events and client meetings.
Qualifications
- Strong sales consulting skills, able to identify client needs, recommend tailored solutions and build long-term partnerships
- A track record of excellent customer service, focused on high-quality experiences and repeat business
- Excellent communication skills, confident on the phone as well as in writing and in person
- Proven experience in B2B sales or account management, ideally within events, media, talent management or professional services
- Comfortable managing time and priorities across office and remote work
- Proficiency with CRM tools and everyday business software (e.g. Microsoft Office or equivalent)
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, communications or a related field are a plus, not mandatory
