Design Assistant - Ladies Youth
Ongoing growth of Stage II has created an exciting opportunity within our Ladies Youth Team.
Based in South Geelong with offices situated throughout Australasia Stage II is a dynamic clothing company. With a strong wholesale sector across all our brands, and a rapidly growing retail presence, Stage II is responsible for, and proud of, our well-known, market leading brands including: All About Eve, Jorge, Elm, Eve Girl and Silent Theory Ladies to name a few.
As our Design Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the Ladies Design team with both creative and administrative tasks, including:
Key Responsibilities:Design Support
· Assist the Design team in the end-to-end product process, from initial development right through to delivery into store.
· Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Design team.
· Maintain internal design archives, including fabric and original sample libraries.
· Keep accurate records of lab dips, strike-offs, tech pack submissions, and approvals
· Create technical CAD’s for range pages and specification sheets.
· Attend fit sessions when possible to gain an understanding of the process for future growth within the design team.
· Assist in storyboard creation, colour palettes, mood board and trend research.
· Support additional design projects and administrative tasks as needed.
Sample & Photoshoot Coordination
· Track and maintain sample progress in line with the critical paths
· Coordinate all logistics for product and marketing samples, including packing, shipping, tracking, and returns.
· Ensure all samples are clearly labelled, photographed, and stored systematically.
· Partner with Marketing to provide accurate product information and support seasonal photoshoot preparation.
· Keep the showroom and design sample areas organized and up to date.
About You
· 1+ years of experience in a similar role within fashion design or product development.
· Formal qualification in Fashion Design (highly regarded but not essential).
· Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop proficiency – you know your way around CADs!
· Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· A strong passion for fashion, design, and delivering high-quality products.
· Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail – this is a must!
· Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
· A collaborative team player with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
· Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow in a creative and driven team.
