About the Role

Based in Hobart, we are looking to appoint a Construction Supervisor on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. You will be responsible for the onsite coordination and supervision of construction activities, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The role supports the execution of a predominately structural and mechanical scope of works.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee daily site operations including subcontractor activities ensuring alignment with construction programs and specifications.
  • Coordinate resources, equipment, and deliveries including client supplied scaffolds and plant
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and report delays
  • Maintain active engagement in daily client meetings
  • Ensure site safety and compliance with regulatory standards including managing safety registers
  • Lead safety briefings, conduct inspections and audits, addressing any hazards
  • Manage quality assurance by overseeing ITP compliance and uploading supporting documentation
  • collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve site issues and enhance delivery
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and partners
  • Supervise and support site personnel (leading hands, trades, labourers)
  • Maintain site records including daily diaries, incidents and activity logs
  • Track materials, deliveries, subcontractors and delays
  • Support variations and extension of time submissions

About you

With trade or professional qualifications in either Civil / Structural or Mechanical / Construction Supervision, you have at least 5 years’ experience in a construction supervisory role in resources, infrastructure or utilities construction projects. You hold a current Construction Induction (White Card) and First Aid and industry tickets. A strong knowledge of MS and site management systems is expected.

Ideally, you have a strong knowledge of structural erection, scaffolding, cranes and rigging desired, with additional knowledge of mechanical fit out and minor civil and electrical works.

A sound understanding of health and safety regulations (e.g. WHS Act, Codes of Practice) and working within Tier 1 contracting environments. You can read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications. You have effective leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills and sound planning, coordination, and time management skills.
