Project Scheduler

Role: Project Scheduler (SMP / Piping)

Contract Length: Initial 3-6 month contract (strong potential for extension)

Location: Port Kembla, NSW | Site-based with the option of WFH

Hourly Pay: $130 per hour

Client Industry: ASX-listed Heavy Industrial / Manufacturing

Role Overview

Join a leading ASX-listed industrial contractor supporting a major capital project. This role has been created to take pressure off a senior leader and play a critical role in driving schedule accuracy and project delivery across a large SMP scope.

This is a highly hands-on, site-based role where success comes from being on the ground-engaging with trades, understanding real progress, and maintaining a detailed and accurate schedule in MS Project.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Maintain and update the project schedule in MS Project

* Conduct daily site walkdowns to validate progress and % completion

* Develop and manage 2-week look-ahead schedules

* Engage directly with supervisors, engineers, and site teams

* Identify delays, risks, and sequencing issues within the program

* Provide weekly reporting updates to support client deliverables

* Support broader project controls including variation tracking and reporting

* Rebuild or optimise the schedule where required

Must-Have Skills & Experience

* Strong experience as a Scheduler in heavy industrial environments

* Solid SMP background (structural, mechanical, piping - piping essential)

* Ability to work on-site and engage directly with trades and supervisors

* Experience using MS Project or Primavera

* Strong understanding of construction sequencing and delivery

* Proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on approach

* White Card and ability to complete site inductions

Nice to Have

* Experience on blast furnace, steelworks, or large industrial rebuild projects

* Exposure to project controls, variation management, or contract controls

* Ability to step into broader project support beyond scheduling
