Job Description
Posted on: June 16, 2026
Changing clothes. Changing conventional wisdom. Change the world.
UNIQLO stems from the words 'unique' and 'clothing' – simple and clever, just like our clothes. Our philosophy is based on the premise of Life Wear: apparel that comes from the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity. Life Wear is clothing that is constantly being innovated, bringing more warmth, more lightness, better design, and better comfort to people's lives.
As the leading brand of the Fast Retailing Group, UNIQLO continues to open large-scale stores in some of the world's most important cities and locations, as part of its ongoing efforts to solidify its status as a global brand. Today the company has more than 2,500 stores in 26 markets around the world.
Australia stands as a key market for UNIQLO in establishing its brand in the Asia and Oceania region and remains focused on continuing its growth. UNIQLO opened the first store, in Emporium, Melbourne, in April 2014, and as of today has expanded to 40 stores across Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, and Australian Capital Territory.
The Opportunity
The Project Manager will develop an in-depth understanding of the UNIQLO global brand and take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery of UNIQLO stores across Australia — ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to brand standards.

- Lead procurement activities, including contractor analysis, selection, and ongoing management of all contractors and vendors.
- Oversee on-site construction, ensuring quality control against UNIQLO global and local standards, and manage timely defects rectification. Interstate travel required.
- Manage Landlord Handovers, ensuring base build and coordinated services align with on-site conditions and agreed scope.
- Identify and mitigate design and construction risks; manage RFIs and change control processes.
- Coordinate project information flow between internal teams (including UNIQLO design teams in Australia and Japan, local architects, and Store Operations), consultants, contractors, landlords, and suppliers.
- Maintain effective project governance, systems, and documentation; manage permits and statutory matters through consultants.
- Continuously capture and apply project learnings to drive improvement on future projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Tertiary qualification preferred (but not essential).

- Experience and knowledge of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques
- Experience in leading multiple projects concurrently

- A natural ability to lead projects and implement agile best practices and control processes
- Expertise in cost governance, demonstrated ability to analyse and negotiate costs
