Role Description The Casual Disability Support Worker will provide person-centered support to individuals in line with Utopia Care’s values and service offerings. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, and household tasks, as well as supporting participation in community, social, recreational, and centre-based programs. The role involves working with people across different life stages, including children, young people, and adults, in both individual and group settings. Documentation of support provided, adherence to safeguarding and safety procedures, and effective communication with participants, families, and colleagues are essential components of the role. This is a contract, casual position based in Glenelg North, SA, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home for administrative and planning tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Disability Support Worker or in similar support roles, with a commitment to person-centered care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build respectful relationships with participants, families, and team members.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, duty of care, and risk management practices, with the ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Basic technical skills to complete digital documentation, use scheduling and communication tools, and follow service-related systems.
- Relevant qualification or training in disability, community services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Current working with children and vulnerable people checks, NDIS Worker Screening clearance, and first aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work flexibly across different settings, including community, group programs, and in-home support, and to travel locally as required.
