About The Role Ventia is seeking a Mess Manager to join our Hospitality and Catering Services team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Defence mess facilities at RAAF Base Darwin. Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Manage meal service operations, cash handling, and reconciliations
• Ensure mess facilities are secure, clean, and compliant with food safety standards
• Respond to customer queries and minor complaints professionally
• Coordinate staff replacements and ensure all team members are inducted
• Maintain accurate records in systems such as IMPOS and Vensafe
• Assist the Rostering Coordinator where necessary to manage replacements for sick or no-show staff
• Report equipment faults and facility issues promptly
• Promote a positive SHEQ culture and complete all mandatory training

About You

• Cert IV or Diploma in Hospitality and Catering (or equivalent recommended)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certification
• Food Safety for Supervisors certification (training provided)
• 2+ years’ experience supervising food and beverage service
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
• Adaptability and commitment to high standards of customer service
• Understanding of Defence Force operations is desirable

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance.
