The Opportunity

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will work collaborately with project teams to provide specialised advice and services for the application of Health and Safety practices and policies in the project team; ensuring safety is the highest priority in all works. We are looking for someone to start immediately.

 

Any given day may see you… 

  • Provide support to Infrastructure projects and ensure safety management systems are being implemented and meet compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Assist in the delivery of safety strategies throughout the Project and provide safety support and guidance to the wider project team.
  • Assist the Safety Manager to ensure all activities are safely completed, throughout the planning, delivery and implementation of the project. Research and collate information for the reporting of HSE incident investigations, inclusive of development and implementation of remedial action.
  • Conduct company inductions and follow-up inductions of newly employed personnel, assessing their competencies to carry out their tasks in a safe manner. Undertake risk assessments, SWMS review, safety audits and Inspections.  
  • Contribute and participate in, HSE Committee, toolbox and muster meetings providing attention to bulletins, industry alerts and safety issues
  • Reporting on incident / injury and hazard frequency rates and respond appropriately to developing trends.
  • Promote the planning and implementation of programs to train employees in safe work practices.
  • Respond and close out any Non-conformances, Observations or Opportunities for Improvement

Here’s what we are looking for…

  • A person who drives a positive safety culture and has demonstrated ability in proactively building relationships with key stakeholders and team members
  • Someone able to work with the project team to collaborately find safety solutions and is a trusted advisor for all safety matters.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role delivering civil infrastructure projects.
  • Cert IV or Diploma in OHS or a similar relevant degree
  • Current Drivers Licence, Construction Induction Card (White card), First Aid, CPR, Working at Heights, Confined Space Ticket, Electrical Spotting, Trenching Safety, Environmental Green Card are highly desired
