We’re looking for a People Partner to join our People Advisory team in Melbourne and play a pivotal role in developing leadership capability, enabling a high-performing culture, and supporting strong talent development across an allocated portfolio. This role is ideal for an experienced HR practitioner who is curious, proactive and confident influencing at all levels. You’ll work closely with the Principal People Advisory & Learning and senior leaders, building leadership confidence across both people strategy and day-to-day delivery. What You’ll Do

  • Partner with sectors and team leaders to deeply understand objectives and deliver strategic people solutions that support high performance, growth and operational success
  • Enable leadership effectiveness through tailored coaching, guidance and development initiatives that build capability, confidence and accountability
  • Proactively support leaders in managing complex employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances and performance issues, with a focus on early intervention and constructive resolution
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on workplace matters, fostering strong relationships and promoting a positive and inclusive culture
  • Lead and support change management initiatives, including restructures and organisational transitions, ensuring effective communication, employee engagement and risk mitigation
  • Drive and support employee cycle activity including engagement, retention and cultural initiatives by aligning people strategies with sector or team goals and employee feedback
  • Build leader capability in employment law, policy interpretation and people management through coaching, training and ongoing support
  • Advise on legal and reputational risks in HR decision-making, ensuring compliance, best practice and alignment with practice values
  • Lead and support end-to-end recruitment, and retention strategies.
  • Monitor and analyse key people metrics, preparing reports and insights on workforce trends, risks and legislative obligations

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in a HR business partnering or people advisory role, ideally within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, employment obligations and contemporary people practices
  • Proven ability to influence and coach leaders through complex people matters with sound judgement and empathy
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility and trust quickly
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines through to completion
  • Agile and flexible approach, comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on
  • Experience using HRIS systems and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. lookups, pivot tables, data analysis and reporting)
