The business has experienced significant growth in recent years and now operates across multiple entities with international operations. This growth has created a dynamic, fast-paced environment and increasing complexity in its finance function, offering genuine scope for a capable Financial Accountant to add value and help shape robust processes as the business continues to expand.
About the Role
This pivotal position ensures clean and accurate financial records across multiple entities. You will manage month-end and year-end processes, oversee accounts payable/receivable and maintain rigorous financial hygiene.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the end-to-end monthly financial close process, including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and journal entries.
- Oversight of operational payroll via Employment Hero, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing.
- Management of AP/AR processes, including raising invoices, payments and bank reconciliations.
- Collaboration with offshore teams and external service providers to ensure smooth financial operations across multiple entities.
- Preparation of BAS, PAYGW, GST, payroll tax, and other regulatory reporting in line with Australian legislation.
- Proactive support of the CFO with cash flow management, reporting and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities with a focus on automation, efficiency and accuracy.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and acute financial hygiene.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic environment with shifting demands.
- Hands-on experience in financial accounting, preferably with multiple legal entities.
- Experience with Employment Hero or similar payroll systems, including payroll oversight.
- Comfortable liaising with offshore teams and external providers.
- Strong technical skills in Xero / accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in accounting or audit roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CA or CPA preferred.
What Sets This Role Apart?
- Competitive salary + super.
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
- Ongoing mentorship and support from senior leaders.
- Work in a collaborative, high-performing team that values accuracy, process excellence and continuous improvement.
- Exposure to cross-border finance operations and opportunities to influence key financial processes.
