Senior Commissioning Engineer - Energy, Substations & TransmissionLocation: Adelaide (with project travel) We are partnered with a leading organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector to recruit a highly skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer. This role will be Adelaide based, with travel to major transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects across Australia. About The Role As a Senior Commissioning Engineer, you will take responsibility for high-voltage commissioning activities on large-scale projects, ensuring safe, timely, and compliant energisation of substations, transmission networks, and grid connection assets. You will provide technical expertise across multiple projects and support the delivery of Australia’s renewable energy transition. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and perform commissioning of HV substations, transformers, switchgear, and protection/control systems
• Conduct and oversee testing, troubleshooting, and energisation works on high-voltage assets
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and operations teams to achieve seamless handover of assets
• Prepare commissioning documentation, reports, and test records in line with project requirements
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards at all times
• Support the mentoring and development of junior engineers and commissioning staff

About You

• Strong background in high-voltage commissioning across substations, transmission, and distribution networks
• Hands-on experience with HV testing, SCADA/protection systems, and electrical infrastructure projects
• Degree or trade qualifications in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and technical troubleshooting capability
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder and contractor management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and project delivery excellence
