About the role
You will lead and manage ICT projects and managed activities within Digital Services and Programs, supporting a major digital transformation program across courts and tribunals. The work focuses on modernising case management and improving digital services for the community and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of ICT projects to time, cost, and quality expectations
- Engage stakeholders and subject matter experts to shape and deliver outcomes
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholders
- Provide accurate, timely project reporting across the project lifecycle
- Own project governance, assurance, risk management, mitigation, and reporting
- Manage suppliers and contracts in line with departmental standards
- Align delivery with related projects and dependencies
- Manage project budget, schedule, and delivery plan
- Develop and maintain project management products and documentation
- Support transition of delivered solutions to operational and support teams
- Participate in project boards to support evidence-based decisions
- Lead teams as required for each project or managed activity
Highly desirable criteria
- Strong attention to detail, with high accuracy across project, procurement, and financial documentation
- Strong stakeholder management, including across complex and competing interests
- Strong negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and align priorities
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to build consensus around proposed solutions
- Experience managing governance, assurance, and risk controls on ICT projects
- Experience leading replacement or uplift of business-critical systems, including case management platforms
- Experience delivering digital solutions such as online portals, electronic document and evidence handling, information sharing, and data analytics
Desirable criteria
- Experience using project tools such as MS Project, Microsoft Office, Excel, Planner, and Outlook
- Experience with delivery frameworks and methodologies such as PRINCE2 and Agile
- Procurement and contract management experience
- Experience working across large, complex stakeholder environments, including whole-of-department engagement
- Experience working with or alongside judiciary and legal profession stakeholder groups
Skills and experience
- ICT project management experience across full delivery lifecycle
- Governance and assurance reporting experience, including status reporting and project controls
- Risk and issue management experience, including mitigation planning and tracking
- Budget management and financial tracking experience
- Supplier and contract management capability
- Strong written documentation skills and discipline around project artefacts
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at operational and senior levels
- Comfort working in environments with sensitive material, with strong personal resilience and coping strategies
