Role Description The Import Export Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing daily import and export operations, including documentation preparation, shipment booking, and communication with carriers, customs authorities, and clients. The specialist will ensure compliance with international trade regulations, monitor shipment status using track-and-trace tools, and resolve issues related to delays, documentation, and customs clearance. Daily tasks include reviewing and verifying invoices and shipping documents, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with internal teams to meet service and delivery timelines. The role also involves providing proactive customer service, identifying process improvements, and supporting efficient logistics solutions for both standard and complex projects.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Import, Export, and Import Export processes and procedures.
- Experience in Customs Brokerage, including preparation and submission of accurate customs documentation.
- Understanding of International Trade regulations, trade terms (Incoterms), and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients, carriers, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency with logistics, shipping, and tracking systems; familiarity with MS Office and related tools.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations is highly beneficial.
- Relevant qualification in international business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
