The heart of the role At Laundy Hotels, people are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re looking for an experienced, people first P&C/HR Business Partner to help us care for, challenge, and support our leaders and teams. This role reports to the Head of Human Resources & Payroll and based at our HQ at Lane Cove NSW. This is a hands on, operational role supporting a diverse, multi-site hospitality portfolio. You’ll work closely with venue leaders, meeting them where they are and helping them navigate the real moments that define great leadership, from tough conversations and compliance to growth, engagement, and team connection. The role is full-time, reflecting the scope and impact of the work. That said, we’re open to part-time arrangements for the right human, someone who brings the experience, care, and mindset needed to partner meaningfully with our leaders and teams. Working under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award (HIGA), you’ll bring calm, clarity, and confidence to people decisions. You’ll balance empathy with accountability, ensuring our people feel supported while our business remains compliant, consistent, and strong. How You’ll Show Up As a P&C Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted advisor to venue leaders and head office stakeholders, providing end-to-end P&C support across our operations. This role blends operational HR, employee and industrial relations, compliance, and people initiatives. You’ll help leaders show up well for their teams, make sound people decisions, and build environments where people can do their best work, all while ensuring best practice under HIGA and Fair Work legislation. You’ll also play a key role in strengthening people processes and contributing to a positive, consistent employee experience across the Laundy group. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with venue leaders to support performance management, conduct, investigations, and disciplinary processes with fairness and clarity
- Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of HIGA and Fair Work legislation
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate contracts, documentation, and system setup
- Maintain compliant and up-to-date employee records, including visas, certifications, and probation reviews
- Support employee relations matters, escalating complex cases where required
- Assist with WHS and Workers Compensation compliance tracking and reporting
- Manage and support HR systems and people reporting
- Oversee visa and sponsorship administration, compliance, and reporting
- Support recruitment activities including job ads, screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication
- Contribute to HR/P&C projects, policy updates, compliance initiatives, and clear communication across the business

As our People & Culture Business Partner, you understand the realities of hospitality, lead with empathy, respect the rules, and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when it counts. What You Bring To The Table
- 5 + years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role
- Hospitality experience (essential or highly desirable), ideally within a multi-site environment
- Strong working knowledge of HIGA and Fair Work legislation
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Psychology or a related discipline
- Experience managing employee relations cases and documentation
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Experience using systems such as Deputy, Wage Easy, PandaDocs, and Tanda
- Experience with visa and sponsorship compliance (highly regarded)
- A confident, approachable communication style with the ability to influence and support leaders
