ABOUTGEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a permanent full-time positionon a 4:3 (Monday to Thursday) roster residential on Groote Eylandt or FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

Domestic relocation to Alyangula, Darwin, or Cairns from anywhere in Australia is provided.

As the Superintendent Maintenance Engineering & Planning, you will be responsible for leading maintenance engineering and planning to maximise asset performance, ensure strategic alignment, and uplift operational value.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Deliver short, medium, and long-term maintenance plans that meet business goals.
• Drive improvement through defect elimination and engineering insights.
• Align work management systems, metrics and strategy to lift performance.
• Lead planning teams and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Oversee asset and capital planning with optimised fleet strategies

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Leading maintenance engineering & planning teams in mining or heavy industry
• Influencing stakeholders through clear, confident communication
• Applying strategic thinking to asset performance & vendor outcomes
• Building a culture of safety, collaboration & continuous improvement
• Challenging conventional thinking to deliver smarter solutions

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Engineering Degree in relevant discipline (desirable)
• Valid C Class Drivers Licence
