The team You will be part of a small, collaborative Government Relations function working closely with legal, communications, policy and operational teams. The team manages Parliamentary engagement, supports hearings and committee participation, and maintains governance and records so ASIC meets its statutory and reporting responsibilities. This is a varied role where you'll work alongside knowledgeable colleagues, gain exposure to complex issues, and contribute to improving the team's everyday effectiveness. - Conduct focused research and analysis to produce clear insights that inform Government Relations activity and shape responses.
- Prepare and refine materials for Parliamentary Committees and hearings, provide reliable on‑the‑day support and ensure timely post‑event reporting.
- Maintain and coordinate the Questions on Notice register and other Parliamentary engagement trackers to ensure accurate follow‑up and accountability.
- Prepare and support team activities by circulating agendas and materials, managing meeting governance, maintaining records and driving actions to closure.
- Manage incoming Government Relations correspondence and information systems, including SharePoint and Excel, to ensure registration, tracking, compliance and easy access to critical documents.
About You You will bring experience from fields such as government relations, journalism, communications, public relations, law or research, together with an ability to navigate the sensitivities of public sector and corporate environments, ideally within a regulatory context. You will understand parliamentary systems and processes, apply strong research and analytical skills, and work with subject matter experts to shape accurate and effective content. Confidence with tools such as Excel and SharePoint will also help you succeed. In this role you will balance multiple priorities, stay calm under pressure, work independently and apply sound judgement to complex issues. You will be adaptable and curious, enjoy collaboration, and build constructive relationships across diverse teams.
