We’re seeking a collaborative Finance Business Partner to join our local government finance team. In this influential role, you’ll partner with leaders and budget owners across Council, providing clear financial advice, analysis and insights that support sound decisions, responsible use of public funds and positive outcomes for our community.

You will be responsible for:

*   **Business Partnering:** Partnering with leaders and budget owners to support financial, budgeting and forecasting needs.

*   **Internal reporting:** Monthly divisional forecast and budget reports and analysis as required to support users in decision making.
*   **Systems accounting:** Manage and administer the financial reporting system to ensure it correctly reflects Council’s financial position and is working efficiently as well as providing training and support for users.
*   **Financial Projects:** Conduct Financial Projects as directed by the Coordinator Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer including financial feasibility and evaluations of existing and proposed projects.

**Key Selection Criteria:**

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

*   Tertiary qualification in accounting/finance and CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants membership.
*   Demonstrated 5+ years’ experience in Finance Business Partnering functions, including being a trusted advisor by providing analysis and assessment of complex financial information.
*   Demonstrated proficiency in administering enterprise financial systems, reporting tools and advanced spreadsheets, with a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
*   Highly developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders, prepare high quality reports and influence financially responsible decisions.

My client is a multi-generation Australian family business is looking for a Finance Manager to own its finance function. The business designs, imports and distributes clothing products - operating across wholesale, multi-site retail, concession, and a growing e-commerce channel.

*   Cin7 Core to Xero reconciliation
*   Weekly debtor finance reporting and upload to the invoice funding facility
*   Local and overseas creditor management and payment runs
*   BAS preparation and lodgement
*   Payroll reconciliation and wages-related accounts
*   Monthly accruals, prepayments, and month-end close

**Periodic responsibilities include:**

*   Year-end preparation – journals, supporting schedules, and financial statements (AU and NZ)
*   NZ entity management

You'll work closely with the operations lead on goods receipting and with the co-directors on financial performance. The role sits at the centre of the business - connecting operations, leadership, and external compliance.

**WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR**

*   Experience with an inventory management system in a product-based or wholesale business – Cin7, DEAR, AP21, Unleashed, or similar. Any platform. The concept is what counts. This is a non-negotiable.
*   Hands-on Xero proficiency – Cin7 feeds directly into Xero and this is where the business is managed from.
*   Background in wholesale, retail, or importing – solid understanding of COGS, landed costs, and multi-channel operations.
*   Exposure to debtor or invoice finance facilities.
*   Small business or family business background - you've worked in a close-knit environment, you understand the pace and the culture, and you thrive in it.
*   Strong communicator - you can translate numbers into plain language for a non-financial audience.

We’re looking for a **Finance Manager** to join our Melbourne-based Finance team on a 12-month parental leave cover.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll lead the financial accounting team through an important period of change. You’ll own the Group’s month-end close and management reporting, provide technical accounting guidance, and play a key role in the ERP transition and the improvements that follow.

**What You'll Do**

*   Lead the end-to-end month-end close process for the Group, coordinating the team and delivering accurate monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis.
*   Oversee Group balance sheet reconciliations, business unit reporting and cost centre reporting, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
*   Act as the escalation point for technical accounting matters and manage the relationship with external auditors through the statutory audit process.
*   Lead, coach and develop a financial accounting team of five, including allocating workloads, setting priorities and conducting bi-annual performance reviews.
*   Guide the team through the ERP transition, supporting go-live in the first half of FY27 and the stabilisation period that follows.
*   Partner with the Financial Controller, CFO and IT to improve the accuracy, efficiency and usefulness of financial reporting and accounting processes.
*   Support the wider Finance team, including Accounts Payable, and contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

**What we are looking for:**

*   CA or CPA qualified, with commercial post-qualification experience in financial accounting or finance management.

*   Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency month-end close processes, including consolidation, with sound knowledge of foreign exchange and Group reporting.

*   Strong technical accounting knowledge and the judgement to resolve complex issues, identify risk and escalate appropriately.

*   Experience working in a mid-size ERP environment. Oracle NetSuite experience is advantageous, but not essential.

*   Proven people leadership experience, with the confidence to lead and develop a team through a period of change. ERP or finance systems transformation experience will be highly regarded.

*   Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with budget owners, business leaders and the executive team.

*   A highly organised, analytical and practical approach, with the ability to manage competing deadlines without close supervision.
